Ukraine faces longstanding issues with corruption at various levels of government and society. Corruption in Ukraine is a complex and multifaceted problem, with different forms, manifestations and key levels.

Ukrainian political corruption includes bribery, embezzlement, and abuse of power by politicians and public officials. High-ranking officials have been accused of using their positions for personal gain and manipulating government contracts for their benefit.

The judiciary in Ukraine also faces allegations of bribery, political interference, and lack of independence. This has undermined the rule of law and eroded public trust in the legal system. Also police officers and other law enforcement personnel are frequently implicated in corrupt practices, including demanding bribes and engaging in extortion. This undermines public safety and erodes trust in law enforcement.

The private sector in Ukraine has also faces corruption issues, including fraudulent business practices, tax evasion, and bribery to secure contracts and permits. Media ownership and control are sometimes used for political purposes, leading to biased reporting and manipulation of information.

Corruption is prevalent at the local level as well, with municipal officials accused of misappropriation of funds and favoritism in awarding contracts. Healthcare and Education sectors have also been affected, with reports of bribes being paid to healthcare providers for better treatment and to educators for better grades.

Ukraine's corruption perception scores on international indices, such as Transparency International's Corruption Perception Index (CPI), have often ranked the country among the more corrupt nations globally.

Some efforts have been made over the years to address corruption in Ukraine. Reform measures, international assistance, and civil society activism have all played roles in attempting to tackle this deep-seated issue. However, progress has been uneven, and corruption remains a significant challenge.
